New VP For First National Bank of Chisholm

First National Bank welcomed a new lender and vice president in April following Rob Wheaton’s retirement. Sara Vatnsdal moved to the area from Roseau, MN with her husband, Jake, and 4 children. Sara comes from a strong banking background, focusing in commercial and consumer lending, working in the past for a variety of institutions large and small. Sara is very passionate about partnering with her clients to help them achieve their financial and business goals, and makes a point to get to know her customers personally. She grew up in Grand Rapids, MN and is familiar with life on the Range. Her and her family are excited to participate in the many joys the range has to offer, especially hunting, fishing, and the trails. Sara was a hockey goaltender for the Grand Rapids/Greenway Lightning in high school, and her oldest daughter Bryjah, is also a goaltender, she’ll be playing for the Hibbing 12U team this upcoming season.

Sara began her banking career as a teller for Wells Fargo bank and worked her way up through the different positions in retail banking. This has given her a strong handle on what goes on behind the scenes at the bank, and she uses that knowledge and experience to help her customers navigate through any issues or changes that may arise. She also has experience in credit building and rebuilding, and takes time to sit with her client to make goals for both personal and business financial growth. To set an appointment to meet with Sara for a full financial review to look for ways to save money and streamline your banking, call her at 218-254-3371 ext. 125

With a passion in usufructuary treaty rights history and policy, she is fortunate to have had the opportunity to build 1854’s Education and Outreach Division from its inception.
