City of Chisholm Boards and Commissions: Applications for Qualified Citizens

The City of Chisholm is currently accepting applications from qualified citizens to serve on the following City of Chisholm Boards and Commissions:

 

Citizens should be willing and motivated to assist in the future direction of the City of Chisholm. Taking part in the democratic process can be a rewarding experience and allows citizens to have a voice in Chisholm’s future.

Completed applications are accepted at any time through-out the year for various City Boards & Commissions positions.

Chisholm Area Chamber and Chisholm Key Club Present: Carpool Christmas Cinema

This December 17th-18th The Chisholm Area Chamber of Commerce and the Chisholm Key Club will be hosting Carpool Christmas Cinema at the St. Louis County Fairgrounds. The featured films will be The Muppet Christmas Carol and Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas (Starring Jim Carrey). Come out for a Christmas cinema celebration with the family this season!

$20 per vehicle

Half of all proceeds will go toward the Chisholm Highschool Key Club and order to help resupply the Reading Oasis in the Chisholm Elementary School we are also accepting book donations for the chance to win a door prize after your movie!

Chisholm Food Shelf Presents: Hunger Awareness “Non-Dinner Benefit”

The Chisholm Food Shelf Cordially invites you to skip a meal and feed a family. 

In lieu of attending a traditional fundraising dinner, your donation will provide a holiday meal to families in our service area this holiday season.

Please “RSVP” by December 15th with your “Non-Dinner” selection. All dinners are tax deductible.

The Chisholm Food Shelf provides nutritious food for families in need in our service area of Chisholm, Buhl, Balkan, Kinney, and Side Lake.

Many lives will be greatly impacted through your generous donation for this very special fundraiser!

Spirit of Chisholm Lighting and Decorating Contest
Vote for the Chamber Member Business that has the Most Spirit of Christmas! Consider both decorations and atmosphere of participating locations! To vote, donate a non-perishable food item or cash donation at the location of your choice!
 
The business with the most donations will receive The Spirit of Christmas Award!
 
Write Letters to Santa
Stop at participating businesses to pick up Form Letters for Santa ( or just use your own). Drop off letters to Santa at The Chamber office or mail them to 221 W Lake St Chisholm, MN 55719.
Letters will be shared on Facebook and each letter (providing a return address will receive a letter from Santa!

Keyboard Liquor Holiday Festival

Paul and Suzi Ruper, owners of the Keyboard Liquor Store, will be hosting their 13th Annual Holiday Wine & Cordial Tasting on Friday, December 3, 2021 at Valentini’s Supper Club beginning at 6:00PM. Numerous wines and spirits will be available for you to sample. cost for the event is $50 per person.

 

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the event was cancelled last year. In 2019, approximately 100 people attended the event and sampled over 50 different wines and spirits. Attendees were able to purchase their favorite beverages and receive them in time for the holidays! Valentini’s added their flair with an elegant buffet of hors d’oeuvres. Paul & Suzi donated the proceeds from the event to the CCF ($2,900). CCF Advisory Board Members assisted in planning and helping with the event.

Chisholm Economic Development Authority: Chisholm EDA Storefront Improvement Grant

Ready to spruce up your storefront? The Chisholm Economic Development Authority is offering grants of up to $2,000 to help pay for storefront improvements! Improvements that qualify include doors, windows, paint with heritage colors, signage, and interior improvements. Bids for projects are required with the grant application. The program is a reimbursement program.

Chisholm Baptist Presents: Bluegrass Christmas with Monroe Crossing

On Friday December 3rd at 7PM World class bluegrass entertainers will be joining us at Chisholm Baptist Church here in Chisholm! Named in honor Bill Monroe, Monroe Crossing dazzles audiences with an electrifying blend of classic bluegrass, bluegrass gospel, and heartfelt originals. Their airtight harmonies, razor sharp arrangements, and on stage rapport make them audience favorites across the US and Canada.

Press-Lloyd American Legion Post 247 Presents: Turkey Bingo

Open to the public! Annual Turkey BINGO at the Chisholm Senior Citizens Center. $1 per game or $20 for the whole evening. Hot dogs, chips, and beverages will be available for purchase.
