Valentini’s Turning Pink

HELP US CELEBRATE 10 YEARS OF VALENTINI’S TURNING PINK

FRIDAY OCT 27

October 2013 we started our event in honor of our sister in law

Carol Marturano who is a breast cancer survivor.

Every year since we have donated our proceeds to the Angel Fund to help provide financial assistance to other families with any type of cancer on the Iron Range. To date we have raised over $178,000!

Stop in and purchase your raffle tickets for a variety of prizes! All proceeds will go toward the Angel Fund and the assistance of families in Northern Minnesota! You have the chance to help and even win something cool while you’re at it! Valentini’s Turning Pink annual event is a great way to show support to not only the community but to everyone suffering from cancer. Raffle items will be announced on the Valentini’s FB page. Raffle ticket holders do not have to be present to win, but coming out for the drawing is a fun time and you can get some great food while you’re there!

We are requesting donations to help raise money for this amazing cause.  Ex: Monetary, gift cards, baskets and/or raffle items

Contact Cindy Marturano @ 218-254-2607 or vsc2607@hotmail.com

"Minescapes" Presented by Pete Kero logo

“Minescapes” Presented by Pete Kero

Come out to the Minnesota Discovery Center on August 24th for a book discussion and Q&A of “Minescapes” presented by Pete Kero, a local author, environmental engineer, and cofounding father of the new award winning Redhead MTB Park.

  • Date/Time: Thursday, August 24th starting at 7PM
  • Location: Minnesota Discovery Center 1005 Discovery Drive
  • Admission: Free & Open to the Public

In Minescapes, environmental engineer Pete Kero explores the record that is written on Minnesota’s mined lands—and the value systems of each generation that created, touched, and lived among these landscapes. His narratives reveal ways in which the mining industry and Iron Range residents coexist and sup port each other today, just as they have for more than a century.

“Minescapes” presented by Pete Kero is a great opportunity to learn more about the process of creating something amazing from a former mining pit and what that means for the environment as well as the community. If you would like to learn more about the event visit the full event article on the Minnesota Discovery Center website!

This event takes place in conjunction with Bands, Brews, & BBQ offering BBQ, signature drinks, and live music from 4-8pm (live music starting at 5pm) in The Rustic Pig Food Court.
Minescapes is available for purchase in the Miner’s Daughter Gift Shop – open Tuesday-Sunday.
