Make Your Own Juneteenth Kite

A neat addition to this celebration is the kite flying, which everyone is welcome and encouraged to bring their own if they have them. However, if you don’t have your own kite VEMA will provide them for you along with materials to decorate it.

Why?

The objective is actually really cool! Throughout Minnesota Juneteenth celebrations want to have enough kites in the sky to commemorate each year since June 19th 1865, the day which Juneteenth celebrates: the day The Emancipation Proclamation took place & slaves were finally freed. So in case you were looking for your calculator app that is 158 years, so every kite counts towards this lofty goal!
