Howl-o-ween Pet arade logo

Howl-o-Ween Pet Parade

The Howl-o-Ween Pet Parade will be taking place in downtown Chisholm on Monday, October 30th 2023 from 6PM-7PM! Everyone should be able to enjoy the spirit of Halloween, including our furry friends! Participants will be meeting in Kiwanis Park by the bridge entrance of Chisholm, all pets must be leashed. All pets are welcomed too of course!

The Howl-o-Ween Pet Parade will be taking place shortly after Lake Street Trick-or-Treat so if you already have the kids out make sure to stick around for the show! We had some great pet costumes last year, but not nearly enough cats!

All participating pets in the parade will get some new toys (both cat & dog toys are provided) and all of the attention your furry family members deserve!

We will also be providing a drop off tub for Precious Paws at the Kiwanis Park meeting area for donations to our sheltered animals who are also in need of and deserving of our love! If you would like to learn more about Precious Paws and what they do or if you would like to volunteer please visit them at their website! There are so many wonderful animals there that would benefit greatly from a little extra love!

Chisholm Community Workshop logo

Chisholm Community Workshop

Come together with Strong Towns for the Chisholm Community Workshop that will be held on Tuesday, September 26th at 5:30PM. The public discussion will be held at the Chisholm Seniors Center and attendees will have an opportunity to talk about what the future of Chisholm should look like and how to get there. This is a perfect chance to make your voice heard!

How can we build a more prosperous town together? What do we want Chisholm to look like for our children & grandchildren? Everyone should be a part of this discussion!

Community members, city staff, and experts from Strong Towns will all get together to build Chisholm’s future. The Chisholm Community Workshop is part of an ongoing Community Action Lab program, led by the City of Chisholm & Strong Towns, a national non-profit that helps communities become financially resilient.

About Strong Towns

Strong Towns is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit media advocacy organization. We produce content that analyzes the failures of the post-war North American development pattern while giving citizens the knowledge and tools to start making our places better today.

We seek to have the Strong Towns Approach be the default way that every city, town, and neighborhood pursues growth, development, and prosperity.

We seek to replace America’s post-war pattern of development, the Suburban Experiment, with a pattern of development that is financially strong and resilient. We advocate for cities of all sizes to be safe, livable, and inviting. We work to elevate local government to be the highest level of collaboration for people working together in a place, not merely the lowest level in a hierarchy of governments.

More about VEMA & their events

VEMA was founded in the spring of 2020 following the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Seraphia Gravelle (Aguallo), Elizabeth Robinson (Allen), and Nathaniel Coward began the work of educating the community and providing a voice for people of color throughout the region. Historically there has been a lack of representation as well as complaints and concerns falling on the deaf ears of the leaders of the regional community.
