The Chisholm Kiwanis Club will be hosting their Kiwanis Kids Day on Thursday, September 15th at The Minnesota Museum of Mining from 4PM-7PM! There will be bounce houses, games, The Amazing Charles, Mr. Ed’s Petting Zoo, Chisholm Ambulance, concessions on site and MORE! This is a free to attend event for families to enjoy and for kids to get out and play before winter starts setting in! Nothing beats some good old fun out in the sun, after all! 

The Chisholm Kiwanis Club sponsors many family activities through the year including Ice Fishing contests, Miss Chisholm, Bobber on the Lake, Kids Day at the Minnesota Museum of Mining, and Holly Jolly Holiday. Kiwanis Kids Day is a community focused event with the simple aim to let the members of the community get out and have fun with their families right here in town!

And visit their event page to mention that you plan on attending as well so that Kiwanis Club has a good idea of how many families they should prepare for, because as you might already know, families can eat A LOT!

On October 28th we will be having our Lake Street Trick or Treat event throughout downtown Chisholm! Kids will trick or treat storefront to storefront through downtown Chisholm dressed up in their costumes to transform Lake Street into the spookiest place on The Range and will collect their treats from all participating storefront locations in a safe and fun environment! Local businesses will open their doors and provide a variety of candies, snacks, and treats for the kids to grab (and we hope all of you adults will be dressed up too, it is the reason for the season!) 

Last year’s Lake Street Trick or Treat was a smashing hit and we filled Chisholm with all manner of witches, ghosts, ghouls, heroes & villains. We hope to see everyone having just as much fun (if not more) as last year’s event. The NTXX 20 Year Anniversary celebration for members! Can you believe it’s been 20 years???
The celebration will take place on Saturday, September 24th.
 
-10am Meet and Greet at Jim’s Sports Bar. FREE Registration for Members all day. If your not a member don’t worry you can register during the event $25.00 for individual or $35.00 for family
 
-11am leave for ATV Ride to The Hwy 5 Bar for free lunch and entertainment for Members. Arrive back to Jim’s by 4pm.
 
-4pm, FREE Registration for Members and Social Hour.
 
-5pm, FREE Pizza Buffet for Members, Raffles, Split the pot and fun.
 
-6 to 10pm LIVE Music by Poor Boyz outside weather permitting otherwise inside.

Northern Traxx ATV Club is a C3/7 non-profit organization, started to encourage and promote the use of all-terrain vehicles in collaboration and conjunction with other off-road motorized groups.

Our aim is to safeguard the future of ATV use in the state of Minnesota by encouraging responsible riding, safety, and environmental awareness through education, contributing to a growing tourism industry, and establishing sustainable trail systems on the Iron Range and surrounding areas.

Get ready for Chisholm’s 9th Annual Schnorr Mudfest on September 10th through September 11th! There will be a big ATV ride, fireworks, and plenty of fun for everyone!

This years ATV ride will be held September 10th starting at Tom and Jerry’s Bar in Chisholm, MN.
 
The 9th Annual Schnorr Mudfest will leave town, head to Highway 5 Bar and then on to the Sportsman’s Club where lunch will be served for all the riders. While the ride is going on there will be family friendly events happening on Main Street in Chisholm so even if you don’t have an ATV you can still be part of the fun! After the ride returns to town we will hold our drawings for raffle items, as well as our traditional large cash raffle drawing.
 
We will continue into the night with a band as well as fireworks display at dusk. Food vendors will be available throughout the day, so please come down, have a bite, have some fun and help support Fishing with Vets!

LOD Dart Tournament Fundraiser

Sidelines will be holding a LOD Dart Tournament Fundraiser on September 17th to benefit the upcoming Chisholm Splash Pad! Sign ups will begin at 2PM and the tournament itself will begin at 3PM.

It is $10 per person to enter into the LOD Dart Tournament Fundraiser and all proceeds will be going toward the splash pad. There will also be raffles and prizes to be had as well!

 

LOD: Luck of the Draw, meaning that partners are chosen at random. It is a double elimination tournament which means that losing two games will disqualify you from winning.

The Splash Pad will be a great addition to our city and Chisholm Kiwanis and the community have gotten so far in getting the necessary funds to get the project rolling! It is estimated that construction will begin on the Splash Pad in the Spring of 2023. Not only will it be a great place to bring the kids during those hot summer days, but it will help drive in more traffic to the area which means more money for local businesses! (And that’s a great thing!)

Come join us in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month at our Taco Fundraiser at Jim’s in Chisholm 108 W Lake Street! Presented by VEMA ( Voices for Ethnic and Multicultural Awareness) for Hispanic Heritage Month! The event will be taking place on Saturday, September 17th 2PM-6PM at Jim’s Sports Club, Bar, & Grill. Plates will be $20each ad will include tacos (Your choice of carnitas or barbacoa) and a side of pinto beans, elote, or cilantro lime rice! The VEMA Taco Fundraiser at Jim’s will be the perfect time to try out some authentic ethnic food and help raise funds for a cause while you’re at it!

What does VEMA do?

  • VEMA seeks to lift up the voices of all citizens of the community that experience discrimination or prejudice, to enact change, and educate the community, all while providing resources for those affected.
  • VEMA was founded in the spring of 2020 following the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Seraphia Gravelle (Aguallo), Elizabeth Robinson (Allen), and Nathaniel Coward began the work of educating the community and providing a voice for people of color throughout the region. Historically there has been a lack of representation as well as complaints and concerns falling on the deaf ears of the leaders of the regional community. VEMA stands united to work against racism and injustice. Through educating not only the members of VEMA but also the community surrounding them, they intend on chipping away at the systemic and blatant racism that exists throughout their community. In addition to education, a priority of VEMA is to ensure accurate and adequate representation as the community as a whole works to disrupt racism and discrimination.
  • Cultivate Relationships: Attend one of our gatherings, events, or just hang out at the Center have coffee/tea and chat with others.
  • Lending Library: Check out books on social justice, history, culture, and children’s books.

Chisholm Sportsmen’s Club Presents the 100th Annual Crow Feed & Trap Shoot! The event will be taking place on September 17th 2022 at Noon at the Club Rifle Range which is located approximately six miles on Highway 5 of Chisholm to Hanson Road, take a right on Hanson road and the Range is on the right hand side of the road!

 

Trophies will be awarded in 4 classes:

  • Regular Shoot Off
  • Old Timers Division
  • Kids Division (16 & Under)
  • Annie Oakley

Membership, meal & Raffle Tickets are available at site.

Everyone is welcome to the 100th Annual Crow Feed & Trap Shoot!

The menu includes roast pork, sliced beef, Italian sausage, corn on the cob, salads & rolls/butter, and refreshments!

Adults – $20 Meal, $20 Membership

Kids (14 & Under) – $10 (Includes Membership)

Come on out for a great time, a fun competition, and a top notch meal! The Keepers of the Faith Concert will be taking place on August 31st at 6p.m. at Chisholm Baptist Church! Keepers of the Faith (KOTF) are made up of five vocalist who love to serve God with their talents of singing. The group consists of Lima Taito, Agaese Taito, Faalai Taito, Zephanaiah Taito, and Peter Wainaina. Keepers of the Faith is probably the most diverse Southern Gospel Quartet you’ll ever meet.

That diversity is very evident in their unique style. Keepers of the Faith bring the deep south island flavor, a taste of oldie but goody, and the soul of saved men and women to the genre of Southern Gospel Quartet Music. The Keepers of the Faith have been in ministry for over 20 plus years. The ministry as a whole started out as a prison ministry team that would visit brothers and sisters locked and shunned from society. Their roots also consist of visiting hospitals and singing for every room that would want the uplifting of good old harmony singing. The keepers of the Faith now is a renowned Gospel quartet who are touring and living to the standard of their name. The Keepers of the Faith Ministry sing, preach, and most importantly live the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is their hope and prayer that you see the reflection of Christ within every aspect of their Ministry.

The Kiwanis 15K Raffle will be taking place on September 7th at Valentini’s Supper Club on Lake Street! Tickets are $100 each and go towards the upcoming Chisholm Splash Pad which will be located near the bocce ball courts once construction begins. 

The prizes are as follows:

First Prize- $9,000

Second Prize- $3,000

Third Prize- $1,000

Fourth Prize- $500

I don’t know about you, but $9K would do a lot for me and you can claim it for yourself with one ticket and a little bit of luck! Only 300 tickets will be available so get yours before they’re gone! The Kiwanis 15K Raffle tickets may be purchased at Chisholm Chamber, Chisholm Kiwanis, Valentini’s Supper Club, Tom & Jerry’s, or Jim’s Sports Club! It’s exciting that we will soon be having  new installation in town  during those hot summer months and the entire community had a part to play in making this possible!
