Sunscreen Film Festival North is a year-round nonprofit mentoring program We have professionals mentoring all ages all aspects of film. The reason we brought this program here to Chisholm/ Hibbing is because we saw the need to provide the access and resources to those who may not have had an opportunity otherwise to create art / culture through film.  Sunscreen Film Festival North replaced the Sunscreen West, which was held in Hermosa
Beach, California for over ten years. Robert Enriquez and Carla Magnuson were able to create the North last year in just six weeks with very limited time and financial backing.  With that we are not able to implement the mentoring part of the program. This year so far we have had multiple classes, participated in the parade here and also have gathered footage for a documentary project Carla is doing as part of the program under guidance of Robert, for mental health.  We are looking to grow the program and need our community’s help. Sponsors are vital to this program for we would be able to provide more trainings, the equipment needed as well as do productions like bringing back a film version of Field of Screams. Remember how much fun that was, we hope for our version Field of Screens to be an annual event.  All the program participants get to be a part of the festival October 30-11/2/25 as a celebration of all our hard work over the year.  We are looking for more participants who want to be involved.  Businesses who donate have a unique way of being a part of bringing this program here, your name will be out introduced national and internationally.
