Come out to the Minnesota Discovery Center on August 24th for a book discussion and Q&A of “Minescapes” presented by Pete Kero, a local author, environmental engineer, and cofounding father of the new award winning Redhead MTB Park.
- Date/Time: Thursday, August 24th starting at 7PM
- Location: Minnesota Discovery Center 1005 Discovery Drive
- Admission: Free & Open to the Public
In Minescapes, environmental engineer Pete Kero explores the record that is written on Minnesota’s mined lands—and the value systems of each generation that created, touched, and lived among these landscapes. His narratives reveal ways in which the mining industry and Iron Range residents coexist and sup port each other today, just as they have for more than a century.
“Minescapes” presented by Pete Kero is a great opportunity to learn more about the process of creating something amazing from a former mining pit and what that means for the environment as well as the community.
