Founded in 2011, the Angel Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing assistance to NE MN residents undergoing cancer treatment The support offered includes gas cards to facilitate travel to medical appointments as well as gift cards for groceries, protein drinks, and other essential items. Since its inception, Angel Fund has distributed approximately 2,650 “gifts” totaling nearly $983,000 in aid. This surge reflects both an increase in cancer diagnoses and greater financial need among patients.
All Northeastern Minnesota residents who are undergoing cancer treatment are eligible for assistance from Angel Fund. Funding is made possible through grants, fundraising events, memorials, and the generous contributions of community organizations and individual donors. Despite these efforts, the demands for assistance remains substantial, and there is still much work to be done.
