Making REEL Change Virtual Ice Fishing Tournament

January 13-17 join United Way of Northeast Minnesota in a virtual Ice Fishing Contest to support Smiles United!

Anglers ages 16+ are invited to take part in the Making REEL Change ice fishing tournament by fishing on any lake in public waters within St. Louis, Koochiching, Lake of the Woods, or Itasca counties. One adult participant will win a LIFETIME MINNESOTA FISHING LICENSE! In addition to $200 L&M gift cards will be awarded to the winning fish in each category on the leadership board!

For each registered participant, a KIDS FISH Wild Card entry can be registered for children under the age of 16.

All fish entered in the tournament must be photographed, measured, and recorded with the FishDonkey app.

 HOW TO ENTER A FISH

Categories and leaderboards will update throughout the contest so check the leaderboards on your phone or on the website to follow the tournament progress.

The Award Categories for this contest are:

1. Largest Walleye/Sauger – measured by length

2. Largest Northern Pike – measured by length

3. Stringer of Three Crappies – measured by the total length of three fish (Each crappie must be uploaded individually – the app will keep your longest three.)

4. KIDS FISH Wild Card – one KIDS FISH winner will be randomly selected from all submitted fish (Fish caught by kids 15 years old and under can be submitted via a participating adult’s app for a chance to win a $50 L&M gift card!)

Proceeds from this contest will support UWNEMN’s Smiles United program, providing preventive and restorative dental care to patients of all ages who are uninsured or underinsured.  This program operates both at local schools and at UWNEMN’s office in Chisholm by way of a mobile dental unit.
